Jōgashima is known to be a breeding ground for Japanese cormorants, and thousands of these birds migrates to the island between autumn and spring. The cliff seen from this observation point is a nesting place of these birds.

Umanose dōmon is a natural arch 8m high, produced by erosion. In the old days people climbed on this rock but now it is prohibited to go nearby since it may collapse.
